Welcome to my crafty corner of the internet…

I call this journey ‘In My Spare TIme’ because everything I do is in my spare time. In between working part-time, sorting out my children and generally managing the household I try to find snippets of time here and there to start something crafty and hopefully finish it in a decent amount of time.

I like to try new things, am always keen to get absorbed by a new hobby, but most of all, I really just love crafting and I want you to find your own bit of time to something for yourself too.

Through this website I’ll be sharing everything I do, from the successes to the failures. I’m aiming to inspire you to carve out some precious time for yourself, especially if you’re a busy person juggling a million things. You need time for you as much as everyone else.

I hope you’ll join me as I share my crafty journey.

I’m over on just a couple of social media sites – Instagram and Pinterest, so if you do those things, come join me there as well.

Do subscribe to my mailing list as well, it’s the easiest way to find out what I’ve been up to and have a think about what you might like to try too.

Crafting isn’t just a hobby, it’s a way of life!

A little bit about me…

A photograph of a woman on the left in a yellow coat and hat seated and with her left arm resting on a bronze statue of Sherlock Holmes outside the Sherlock Holmes Museum in Meiringen, Switzerland

This is me, Ruth, a woman in her late 40’s who tries to take life seriously, but fails a fair amount of the time. I like being out and about, talking to people and finding out about things. I love exploring with my family, my husband and two girls. These are shots from recent trips to Shropshire, Somerset, and the most amazing trip to Switzerland where I finally got to meet Sherlock Holmes and climb up to the Reichenbach Falls. That’s one off the bucket list!

I have Coeliac Disease, as do my two girls. We’re all only diagnosed in the past 4 years, so it’s come as a bit of a learning curve for us all. All the cakes I share with you are gluten free and you can read all the recipes and learn to make them too. You won’t be disappointed!

Life is for living, and definitely more so since all we went through with the Covid-19 pandemic.

Let’s craft and have a bit of fun together. You deserve it!
